Castle and palace, Allstedt

As a Franconian imperial castle founded in the 8th century, Allstedt was one of the most frequented palaces in Saxony during the reign of the Ottonians. The imposing complex obtainedits appearance during the late-Gothic to Baroque era. Today, the maincastle with many details of mediaeval castle architecture is amuseum. Müntzer and Goethe were among the guests here. The unique castlekitchen, castle chapel, permanent exhibitions and beautiful innercourtyard are worth a particular look.

Eröffnung und Tag der offenen Tür
Die Ausstellung „SEIN und SCHEIN. Thomas Müntzer“ wird am 13. Juli 2025 in Anwesenheit des Ministerpräsidenten Dr. Reiner Haseloff und geladenen Gästen eröffnet. Ab 13 Uhr schließt sich ein Tag der offenen Tür an. Das Schloss mit den Ausstellungsräumen ist dann für alle Interessierten nach dreijähriger Schließung bei freiem Eintritt geöffnet. Im Wirtschaftshof werden Speisen und Getränke sowie Mitmachaktivitäten für Kinder angeboten. Den Auftakt macht der Verband Deutscher Schwarzpulver Kanoniere e. V. mit Böllerschüssen vor dem Schloss.

Öffnungszeiten, Eintrittspreise ab 15. Juli 2025 
täglich außer Montag von 10 bis 18 Uhr
